(S & P)

Published by an independent company, "Standard & Poor 'index is compiled in two versions - the shares of 500 corporations and 100 shares of corporations.
S & P-500 is a weighted market value of the stock index of 500 corporations, which are represented in it in the following proportions: 400 industrial companies, 20 transportation and 40 financial and 40 utility companies. It includes not only the shares of companies listed on the New York Stock Exchange, but shares of corporations that are listed on the American Stock Exchange and the OTC in the back. This index is more complex compared to the Dow Jones, but he is also more accurate, due to the fact that it presents a larger number of shares of corporate stock of each corporation and are weighted by the value of all shares in the hands of shareholders. Futures and options thereon traded on the Chicago Mercantile Exchange.
S & P - 100. The index is calculated on the same basis as the index of stocks of 500 corporations, but it consists of shares in corporations, which are registered options on the Chicago Board Options Exchange. This is mainly industrial corporations.
